Role holder expected to have good knowledge of design of substation from 66kV to 765 kV AIS and GIS, responsible for all activities related to substation engineering like preparation and review of engineering documents for substation.
Qualification: BE. or B. Tech. in Electrical / Civil Engineering from reputed university
Experience: 5-15 Years in substation engineering
Key Competency: Advance level of understanding in substation engineering and design; Knowledge of IS, IEEE, CBIP, CEA, IEC, various national & international codes & standards and regulatory aspects. Experience in AutoCAD, MS Office tools.
Responsibilities:
Preparation & review of engineering deliverables like design basis report, detailed engineering drawings including Erection key diagram, design calculations, Relay setting calculations, vendor technical offers etc. related to the substation.
Preparation of detailed bill of quantity (main & lot items) for pre-bid stage and post bid stage.
Coordinate with Project Planning Manager and ensure deliveries are aligned to Project Schedule and within stipulated cost.
To provide feedback to tendering team w.r.t learning’s during execution of project.
Participating in discussions, design and project review meetings with customers, consultant, OEM’s for expediting engineering progress.
Coordination with internal stake holders (Electrical Engg. team, Civil Engg. team, Mechanical Engg. team, project managers, site team, SCM etc.) and external agencies (Customer / Consultant / EPCs / OEMs) for timely submission/approval of engineering documents.
Monitoring of engineering document management activities as per company process
Take new technology initiatives for utilization of assets and cost optimization.
Explore latest and state of art technology for system improvement without deviating Technical Specification.
Provide technical support for root cause analysis in case of failure/malfunction of any system related to substation engineering.
Involvement in engineering process developments, standardization, document management system, update switchyard specification as per latest standards/regulatory guidelines.
Takes ownership and accountability for area of responsibility, makes a positive contribution to the team & department.
Good written, verbal, communication, and interpersonal skills.
