>>About Economic Development Advisory (EDA):
The Economic Growth Advisory team is part of KPMG Government & Public Sector practice. Bringing in fresh investments is the key to India’s sustainable and inclusive growth. While most attention is focused on the central government, India’s state governments are also vying for investments to ensure economic development in their states. KPMG in India has been at the helm driving collaborations with multiple state governments by providing strategic guidance to facilitate and accelerate investments.
We work at the intersection of government and private sector for collaboration with various governments to explore avenues for job creation and help create an enabling business environment. We follow a transformational approach towards job creation by leveraging strategic interventions across domains for facilitating investments, promoting trade and, encouraging entrepreneurship, thereby developing a conducive ecosystem for large industries, SMEs, and startups to thrive.
>>Role & Responsibility
- Project Planning and Structuring
- Design and structure PPP projects, ensuring a balance between public and private sector interests.
- Identify potential projects, conduct feasibility studies, and develop business cases.
- Stakeholder Engagement
- Engage with various stakeholders, including government agencies, private companies, and community groups.
- Build consensus and support for projects.
- Financial Analysis and Funding
- Perform financial analyses to assess the viability of projects.
- Secure funding from public funds, private investments, and international financial institutions.
- Risk Management
- Identify and manage risks associated with PPP projects.
- Ensure appropriate risk allocation between public and private partners.
- Regulatory and Legal Compliance
- Ensure projects comply with relevant laws and regulations.
- Draft and negotiate contracts as needed.
- Project Implementation and Monitoring
- Oversee the implementation of projects, ensuring timely and budget-compliant completion.
- Monitor project performance to ensure they meet intended goals.
- Advisory and Consultancy
- Provide expert advice to governments and private sector clients on best practices for PPPs.
- Help improve the efficiency and effectiveness of public services and infrastructure.
>> Qualification
- Extensive experience with PPP projects involving government entities.
- Minimum 5+ years of experience post masters.
- Master’s degree in economics, Business Administration, Public Policy, or a related field.
- Proven track record of successfully completing at least two PPP transactions.
- Experience working with government agencies and public sector organizations.

- Strong expertise in project planning and structuring.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
- Proficiency in financial analysis and securing funding.
- Effective risk management capabilities.
- Thorough understanding of regulatory and legal compliance.
- Proven track record in project implementation and monitoring.
- Ability to provide high-quality advisory and consultancy services.
>> Education Qualification
Postgraduate in Economics, Finance, Business Administration, Public Policy the related field or relevant.
