Job Description:We seek an experienced database leader with expertise in DB2 databases and proven experience in migrating on-premises databases to cloud-based services.Lead large-scale migrations, ensuring data integrity, performance, and scalability throughout the process.Responsibilities & Expectations:Database Architecture & DesignDefine database models, schemas, and structures for applications, ensuring designs meet scalability, performance, and security requirements.Evaluate and choose the right database technologies to meet business needs.Performance Optimization & ManagementMonitor system performance (queries, indexes, workloads) and optimize queries, indexing strategies, and storage to ensure high availability and low latency.Database Operations & MaintenanceOversee backups, restores, patching, replication, failover strategies to ensure seamless operations.Ensure disaster recovery plans are in place and tested to minimize downtime.Data Governance & SecurityImplement access control, encryption, and compliance standards to protect sensitive data.Ensure data integrity, consistency, and auditability across all systems.Leadership & CollaborationLead a team of database professionals, providing guidance and mentorship to drive success.Work closely with application architects, project managers, and other technical leads to achieve business objectives.Cloud Migration & ModernizationPlan and lead database modernization efforts, including migrating from on-prem to cloud-based services.Oversee adoption of managed services, automation, and infrastructure as code (IaC) to improve efficiency and scalability.Required Skills & Qualifications:Proven experience in database administration, with a focus on DB2 databases.Expertise in migrating on-premises databases to cloud-based services.Strong knowledge of database architecture, design, and performance optimization.What We Offer:A competitive salary and benefits package.A collaborative and dynamic work environment.Opportunities for professional growth and development.
