Job DescriptionWe are seeking a highly skilled Backend Engineer to join our team. This is an exceptional opportunity for an experienced professional who can architect the nervous system of our AI Operator.The RoleAs a Founding Backend Engineer, you will be responsible for building the Context Layer which serves as the sensory system that determines how our system sees the world. You will own the infrastructure that fuses rigid financial data with messy and unstructured signals. Your job is to design and maintain the canonical data models that normalize conflicting metrics across disparate sources.You will work closely with cross-functional teams to standardize data schemas, build deep 1P data integrations, integrate unstructured data & LLMs, and architect the observer framework. This role requires a deep understanding of system design and data integrity.What We're Looking For4+ years of experience building high-throughput backend systems in Python, Go or JavaHigh agency, able to diagnose problems and ship fixes without needing approvalExperience working with SQL, NoSQL and message queuesAbility to handle data that arrives in different shapes, sizes and speedsIntellectually honest, willing to challenge assumptions and dig into root causesBenefitsCompetitive salary ($170,000 – $220,000)Significant equity package commensurate with a founding roleDaily lunch and dinnerRelocation support for candidates moving to the Bay AreaComprehensive health, dental, vision and unlimited PTO
