Role Description:

The Mining Operation Manager will be responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of the block mining operations, including granite, sandstone or marble. The candidate must ensure all mines are running efficiently with importance given to safety of the workers, maximum production and adherence to compliance. This role requires strong knowledge of mining processes, equipment handling, and quarry management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operations Management:

·        Oversee the extraction and block mining processes, including granite, sandstone, and marble.

·        Plan and coordinate daily production activities to meet production targets.

·        Implement strategies for efficient mining, ensuring minimal material waste and optimizing production output.

·        Manage drilling, blasting, cutting, and transportation activities effectively by giving necessary instructions to site managers

·        Should be willing to travel to any mining site as and when required.

·        Should be able to liason with government offices for compliance etc.

·        Should be able to follow and comply with rules and regulations set by DGMS.

·        Should be able to make and follow site-wise budget.

2.Team Leadership:

·        Lead a team of miners, machine operators, engineers, and other staff members.

·        Allocate tasks to ensure smooth and coordinated work operations.

·        Provide training, mentorship, and performance evaluations to the team members.

1)     Equipment Management:

·        Ensure the proper maintenance and repair of all machinery and equipment used in mining operations (cranes, excavators, cutting machines, etc.).

·        Monitor equipment performance and ensure safe operating conditions.

·        Work closely with maintenance teams to schedule and perform regular inspections.

2)     Safety and Compliance:

·        Implement and enforce strict safety protocols to ensure the health and safety of all workers.

·        Ensure compliance with local, national, and international mining laws and environmental regulations.

·        Conduct safety audits and risk assessments to identify and mitigate potential hazards.

3)     Financial and Resource Management:

·        Develop and manage the budget for mining operations.

·        Optimize resource allocation, including raw materials, equipment, and labor.

·        Monitor and control production costs to stay within budget constraints.

4)     Quality Control:

·        Ensure that the mined blocks meet quality standards for size, durability, and appearance.

·        Coordinate with quality control teams to address issues in production and improve product quality.

5)     Reporting:

·        Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports on production, equipment usage, safety incidents, and other key performance metrics.

·        Present findings and recommend improvements to senior management.


Qualifications:

  •     Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering.
  •      Experience: Minimum of [5-10] years of experience in block mining operations, specifically with granite, sandstone, or marble.
  •    Proven track record in managing large-scale mining projects and leading diverse teams.
  •    Thorough knowledge of mining regulations and environmental compliance standards.
