Key Responsibilities:
- Led the design of chassis systems, including layout and design of all parts, with a focus on finalising the layout to meet performance and cost targets.
- Generate feasible design concepts, utilising advanced surfacing and 3D modelling techniques in Solidworks or similar CAD tools.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify load and boundary conditions, prepare design validation plans, and monitor testing results to ensure compliance with performance requirements.
- Drive value analysis/value engineering (VA/VE) initiatives to reduce product material costs while maintaining quality standards.
- Conduct vendor evaluations to assess technical and process capabilities, ensuring alignment with project requirements.
- Prepare design manuals and documentation to facilitate manufacturing processes and ensure consistency in design execution.
- Provide technical leadership and support to junior engineers, guiding them in project execution and problem-solving.
Skills:
- Proficiency in 3D modelling and 2D drawing using Solidworks or similar CAD software.
- Strong understanding of design for manufacturing (DFM), design for assembly (DFA), failure mode effects analysis (FMEA), and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
- Extensive knowledge of chassis design principles, manufacturing processes, and material selection.
- Experience in leading design projects from concept to production, with a proven track record of delivering results on time and within budget.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
Preferred Experience:
- Experience with UG NX and Fusion360 CAD software.
- Previous involvement in full vehicle development projects, particularly in the electric vehicle (EV) industry.
- Familiarity with structural analysis, finite element analysis (FEA), and computational fluid dynamics (CFD) tools.
Qualification: B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering
Experience: Upto 3 years of experience in vehicle design engineering, with a focus on chassis systems.
