We are seeking a highly skilled Linux Software Repository Maintainer to join our team.The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the integrity of software repositories, including updating, upgrading, and patching.This is a part-time contract-based position, with a maximum of 6 hours work per week. The initial tenure is 6 months, renewable for another 6 months based on performance.Remote work from home is possible, but a good broadband internet connection with IPv6 facility is mandatory. Please note that employment gaps are acceptable if you have the necessary skillset. However, we do not accept fake experience.Candidates with matching skills will be shortlisted and contacted via phone for a technical interview. A legal agreement with NDA and NCA will be required upon selection.Vacancy: 1Minimum experience needed: 1-2 yearsProficient in Linux, Bash scripting, C, and Python.Compiling and creating software from source code.Knowledge of GCC and its flags.Keeping track of software dependencies.Patching and providing software patches.Ability to understand and create or modify Makefiles as necessary.Maintaining changelogs and other documentation.Providing bug fixes and reviewing changes.Knowledge of CVS and Git.Connecting with upstream developers for solutions.In addition to technical skills, candidates should possess good English language skills, both verbally and in writing. Teamwork and independent working abilities are also essential. Candidates must be able to resolve assigned tasks within specified time-frames.
