Senior Mortgage Underwriter RoleWe are seeking an experienced Senior Mortgage Underwriter who will play a key role in evaluating loan applications and making sound business decisions on approval or denial.The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of experience in US mortgage underwriting, with a deep understanding of FNMA, FHLMC, and GNMA guidelines. They will also possess exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to make informed judgments.Key Responsibilities:Evaluating complete loan documents and providing approval or denial recommendationsCompleting thorough review of credit reports to verify trade lines, derogatory accounts, public records, and credit reconciliationConducting comprehensive income calculations, including salaried income, business income, retired other income, and rental incomeReviewing collateral and property valuationsVerifying assets, including borrower bank account statements, retirement accounts, mutual funds, and other investmentsCredit analysis based on borrower's income, asset, liability, and collateral (4C of Underwriting) to determine credit worthinessValidating and processing loan documents on behalf of a mortgage lender organizationEvaluating evidence of borrower's willingness and ability to repay the obligation
