Senior UnderwriterExperience required for the Job: 4+ yearsJob Location: ChennaiKey skills: Residential Underwriting, US mortgagePosition OverviewCandidate should have total 4+ years of US mortgage underwriting experience.Sound knowledge of US Residential mortgage.Exposure of Underwriting processes & guidelines.Excellent critical thinking, problem solving and sound judgment. Analysis and Calculation of qualifying income from Salaried various tax documents such as 1040s, Schedule E, 1065, 1120, 1120S, K1, transcripts, etc.Well versed with FNMA. FHLMC, knowledge of GNMA and investor guidelines is an additional benefitShould have good analytical and problem-solving skillsShould have decision-making skill when applying in business judgmentEvaluate complete loan documents and should provide approval or denial decisionComplete review of credit report to verify trade lines, derogatory accounts, public records and credit reconciliationThorough income calculation – Salaried income, business income, retired other income and rental incomeComplete review of Collateral and property valuationAssets verification include borrower’s bank account statement, retirement accounts, mutual funds and other investments.Credit analysis based on borrower’s Income, Asset, Liability and Collateral (4C's of Underwriting) to determine the credit worthiness of a customerValidating and processing the Loan documents on behalf a Mortgage lender organization.Evaluating evidence of borrower’s willingness and ability to repay the obligationGood communication, Presentation skills, Self-motivated and hard working⚠️ Disclaimer: Firstsource follows a fair, transparent, and merit-based hiring process.
