Power Electronics Engineering Manager

Location: Vadodara, Gujarat, India (On-site)

Virbhu , subsidiary of AK power solution of USA , a leader in power electronics, has an immediate opening for a Power Electronics Engineering Manager. This role is crucial for leading and developing a team to design, optimize, and execute power electronics products, with a focus on battery chargers, rectifiers producing DC current, and driving motors. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in power electronics and a background in Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), progressing from a developer and circuit designer to a managerial role.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Power Electronics Expertise: Lead the design and development of power electronics products, including battery chargers, rectifiers, and DC motor drivers, ensuring they meet the highest industry standards.
  • Product Line Execution: Establish and sustain a robust power electronics product line, overseeing the full product life cycle from development through production.
  • Team Leadership: Build and manage a highly skilled team of up to 10 engineers and 15 technicians, mentoring them to deliver world-class power electronics products through New Product Introduction (NPI) processes.
  • Continuous Improvement: Support production maintenance and continuous product improvement (CPI) on existing products, focusing on cost reduction and process optimization.
  • Leadership Development: Drive execution excellence, ensuring continuous design process improvements, while leading and coaching a growing team in a smaller group company environment.
  • Project Management: Manage projects autonomously, leading cross-functional teams to meet objectives on time and within scope, while fostering a culture of innovation and efficiency.
  • Strategic Sourcing: Lead cost-reduction efforts and make key sourcing decisions to optimize production costs and supply chain effectiveness.
  • Career Development & Performance: Provide leadership through coaching, career planning, and performance management to help team members reach their full potential.


Qualifications:


  • Educational Background: Master's degree in Electrical Engineering is required; a background in power electronics is essential.
  • Experience:
  • 20+ years of progressive engineering experience in power electronics, battery chargers, rectifiers producing DC current, and driving motors.
  • 7+ years of experience in , development , systems integration, and testing of hardware and software.
  • 3+ years of experience in power electronics component development of power electronics in 11 kv ac to 1000 Vdc
  • 2+ years of experience in a direct supervisory or managerial role, having transitioned from a developer or circuit designer into leadership.
  • Managerial Background: Experience managing small teams or groups.
  • Leadership Style: A loyal leadership mentality, focusing on team growth, development, and collaboration.
