Bioinformatics Specialist

Position : - Manager /Deputy Manager - Bioinformatics

Position Summary:

In this role, you will be responsible for driving and overseeing bioinformatics initiatives. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in bioinformatics, with at least 5-8 years of relevant experience, and a proven track record of leading successful bioinformatics teams.

Responsibilities:

• Head the bioinformatics team, serving as the primary expert in applications and analysis software.
• Advise customers on tailored end-to-end workflows and provide innovative solutions.
• Lead software demonstrations, attend industry events, and actively contribute to workshops and conferences.
• Provide strategic leadership to the bioinformatics team, ensuring expertise, collaboration, and effective issue resolution.
• Embrace a leadership role that involves travel to connect with clients. and stay informed about industry advancements.
• Utilize strong presentation skills to convey technical information to various audiences.
• Independently address customer issues professionally, maintaining high levels of satisfaction.

Minimum requirements:

• Master’s degree in Bioinformatics with 5+ experience
• Ph.D in bioinformatics with 2+ years of experience
• Experience in handling genomic data (microarray/NGS)
• Should have knowledge on end-to-end bioinformatics pipeline(exome/wgs/transcriptome/methylome, etc)
• Experience in various bioinformatics tools and databases (BWA,GATK,samtools,vcftools,bedtools, TCGA, COSMIC db, CLINVAR, etc)
• Proficiency with Linux, Unix, PERL/Python/R/Shell
