About the Role:Matsya Capital is an investment firm focused on the Indian equity market. We operate on the traditional US hedge fund model.The strategy of our fund lies in seeking undervalued situations and unusual stock movements. Our expertise lies in conducting thorough valuation analysis on what is priced in and how that is likely to change.We are looking for a Junior Analyst to join our team.Key ResponsibilitiesYou will be responsible for financial modeling, financial analysis, and forming an investment thesis on the sector you will be working on.You will track down and analyze every industry/company data point available in the public domain.You will create presentations and present convincing ideas to the team.You will also have a few administrative responsibilities shared by all members of the team.Required Skills and QualificationsA keen interest in capital markets.The ability to fully understand businesses and sectors.Strong skills in financial modeling, analyzing income statements-balance sheet-cash flows and valuing companies.Prior experience building operating and financial models of companies and industries.An understanding of basic principles of equity valuation.Exceptional skills in advanced Excel and PowerPoint.Attention to detail.1-2 years of relevant work experience (sell-side or buy-side experience preferred).
