About The Business:
Tata Electronics Private Limited (TEPL) is a greenfield venture of the Tata Group with expertise in manufacturing precision components.
Tata Electronics (a wholly owned subsidiary of Tata Sons Pvt. Ltd.) is building India’s first AI-enabled state-of-the-art Semiconductor Foundry. This facility will produce chips for applications such as power management IC, display drivers, microcontrollers (MCU) and high-performance computing logic, addressing the growing demand in markets such as automotive, computing and data storage, wireless communications and artificial intelligence.

Role: Lead - MES
Location: Vemagal, Kolar, Karnataka
Minimum Experience: 15+ years in the Profession. Minimum of 8-10 years of relevant experience in manufacturing operations, with at least 5 years in MES implementation and management roles
Minimum Qualification: Graduate Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field. Master’s degree preferred.
Certifications: Relevant certifications in project management, MES platforms, or related fields are advantageous
EXPERIENCE
This MES Lead role requires a blend of technical expertise, leadership abilities, and a deep understanding of manufacturing processes to effectively implement and manage MES solutions, driving efficiency, quality, and compliance within the manufacturing environment.
- Manufacturing Expertise: Extensive experience in the manufacturing industry, with in-depth knowledge of production processes, workflows, and manufacturing systems.
- MES Implementation: Proven track record of leading Manufacturing Execution System (MES) implementations from conception to execution, ensuring seamless integration and optimization within the manufacturing environment.
- Project Management: Strong project management skills, overseeing MES projects, including planning, resource allocation, and timely execution, while adhering to budgets and deadlines.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams including IT, operations, engineering, and quality assurance to align MES solutions with business goals and manufacturing requirements.
- Troubleshooting and Support: Proficiency in troubleshooting MES issues, providing support to resolve technical problems, and ensuring minimal downtime in production operations.
- Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement initiatives leveraging MES data and insights, identifying opportunities to enhance operational efficiency, quality, and compliance.
- Proficiency in MES software platforms (e.g., Rockwell Automation, Siemens, GE Digital), databases, programming languages (e.g., SQL, Python), and understanding of Industry 4.0 concepts
- Analytical Thinking: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, capable of leveraging data and metrics to drive informed decisions and improvements within the manufacturing environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Leadership: Lead a team responsible for MES design, implementation, maintenance, and support, providing guidance, mentorship, and performance management.
- MES Strategy Development: Develop and execute the MES strategy aligned with business objectives, ensuring its effectiveness in optimizing manufacturing processes and improving overall operational efficiency.
- System Integration: Oversee the integration of MES with other manufacturing systems (PLM, ERP, SCADA, etc.), ensuring seamless data flow and interoperability.
- Quality and Compliance: Ensure MES compliance with industry regulations (such as FDA, ISO) and internal quality standards, implementing best practices to maintain high-quality standards throughout production.
- Training and Documentation: Develop training materials and conduct sessions for end-users, ensuring they understand and effectively utilize the MES system. Maintain comprehensive documentation related to MES configurations, processes, and procedures.
