Job Opportunity:Are you a skilled professional with expertise in plumbing and fire protection design? We are seeking a talented Design Engineer to join our team.About the Role:The successful candidate will be responsible for undertaking technical reviews, peer reviews, checks and contributing to the design of plumbing and fire protection systems. They will also provide continuous feedback to senior engineers on the effectiveness of protocols and processes in place, with a view to continuous improvement.Key Responsibilities:Conduct technical reviews and checks of plumbing and fire protection designsProvide feedback to senior engineers on the effectiveness of protocols and processesDevelop positive working relationships with colleagues and communicate openly about project progressParticipate in project meetings and team meetings, disseminating information within the team and communicating with other teamsIdentify and act on potential risk issues and follow company proceduresManage delegated tasks to ensure deadlines are met and flag resourcing concerns to senior engineersIdentify and flag additional fees to senior engineers.Qualifications and Experience:Relevant Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental or Mechanical EngineeringSignificant experience in plumbing and fire protection design for commercial and residential buildings at concept, schematic and detailed design stagesExpertise in fixture load calculations, pipe pressure drop calculations, pipe sizing for hot and cold water and fire protection, and preparation of plumbing and fire equipmentSchedule creation for pumps, pipes, valves, etc., and Bill of Quantities (BOQ) preparationLayout, schematic, section, and plant room drawings, as well as hand mark-upsKnowledge of relevant codes and standards, including ASHRAE, ISHRAE, ASPE, IPC, and NFPA Fire CodesWhat We Offer:We offer a competitive salary and benefits package, as well as opportunities for career growth and development.
