So, bring your boldest ideas to our (name of team/business area) team and feel like you are making progress.About your teamISS Data Engineering Chapter is an engineering group comprised of three sub-chapters - Data Engineers, Data Platform and Data Visualisation – that supports the ISS Department.Fidelity is embarking on several strategic programmes of work that will create a data platform to support the next evolutionary stage of our Investment Process. These programmes span across asset classes and include Portfolio and Risk Management, Fundamental and Quantitative Research and Trading.About your roleThis role sits within the ISS Data Engineering. The Data Engineering team is responsible for building and maintaining the data applications and platform that enables the ISS business to operate.This role is appropriate for a senior data engineer capable of taking ownership and a delivering a subsection of the wider data platform or data applications.As a Senior Data Engineer, you will directly contribute to our key organizational objectives of Accelerated Innovation, Cost Optimization, Risk Mitigation, and Business EnablementKey Responsibilities• Develop components of data pipelines for ingestion and transformation• Execute and monitor data quality validation processes• Implement solutions based on specifications from senior engineers• Assist in translating business requirements into technical implementations• Write efficient SQL queries and Python scripts for data processing• Follow team standards and engineering best practices• Participate in code reviews to improve technical skills• Help maintain documentation for data processes and configurations• Troubleshoot basic issues in data pipelinesAbout youCore Technical Skills• Cloud Platforms: Working knowledge of cloud-based data platforms (Snowflake or equivalent)• AWS Ecosystem: Familiarity with AWS services particularly S3 and Glue• Streaming Architecture: Basic understanding of event-based or streaming data concepts• Programming: Good proficiency in Python and SQL• DevOps: Familiarity with basic CI/CD concepts• Data Security: Understanding of data access control concepts• Database Systems: Experience with RDBMS (Oracle, Postgres, MSSQL)• Data Integration: Basic understanding of ETL concepts• Orchestration: Exposure to workflow tools (Airflow, Control-M, etc.)• Engineering Practices: Familiarity with GitHub and version control principles• Domain Knowledge: Willingness to learn investment management industry conceptsBonus technical Skills:• Basic understanding of containerization concepts• Interest in API development• Willingness to learn about Asset Management data domainsKey Soft Skills:• Problem-Solving: Analytical mindset and eagerness to learn• Communication: Clear communication of technical concepts• Teamwork: Ability to work effectively in a team environmentFeel rewardedFor starters, we'll offer you a comprehensive benefits package.
