We are looking for an experienced SDE-3 Backend Engineer to lead the design and development of scalable, secure backend systems powering our cloud-native cybersecurity platform. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Backend system architecture: Lead the design, development, and optimization of scalable backend services using Node.js, MongoDB, Redis, and NoSQL systems.
• End-to-end delivery: Own and deliver complex backend modules, ensuring high availability, fault tolerance, and cost efficiency.
• Cloud integration: Deploy and manage infrastructure across AWS, Azure, or GCP, following security and performance best practices.
• Security by design: Implement cybersecurity best practices, including secure API handling, encryption, and threat mitigation.
• Cross-functional collaboration: Partner with DevSecOps, frontend engineers, and product managers to deliver robust and secure features.
• Mentorship and code quality: Conduct code reviews, guide junior developers, and uphold high engineering standards.
• Security advocacy: Participate in secure code reviews, threat modeling, and contribute to the overall security posture of the product.

REQUIREMENTS

• Experience: 6–9 years of strong backend development experience in product-based, fast-paced environments.
• Technical skills: Proficient in Node.js, MongoDB, Redis, and asynchronous programming models.
• Cloud expertise: Hands-on experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP and infrastructure best practices.
• Cybersecurity knowledge: Deep understanding of authentication/authorization flows, OWASP top 10, secure coding, and data privacy.
• Startup agility: Prior experience in early or growth-stage startups with a bias toward rapid development and problem-solving.
• Tooling: Familiarity with CI/CD, microservices architecture, Docker/Kubernetes is a big plus.
• Soft skills: Strong ownership mindset, effective communication, and team leadership.

NICE TO HAVE

• Security engineering: Experience participating in security reviews and building systems with compliance in mind.
• Observability and performance: Familiarity with performance monitoring tools and optimization strategies.
• DevSecOps mindset: Understanding of how engineering decisions impact the product’s threat surface and operational risk.
