Job Description:We are seeking an experienced Database Administrator to manage and maintain Astra DB Serverless (Vector) environments in production. Key responsibilities include monitoring database health, performance, and availability using built-in tools and custom alerts, implementing backup, restore, and cloning strategies for disaster recovery and operational continuity.The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of database security, performance tuning, and monitoring, as well as excellent communication and collaboration skills.Manage and maintain Astra DB Serverless (Vector) environments in productionMonitor database health, performance, and availability using built-in tools and custom alertsImplement backup, restore, and cloning strategies for disaster recovery and operational continuitySupport ingestion and indexing of vector data for Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) applicationsOptimize storage and query performance using Storage Attached Indexing and vector search capabilitiesCollaborate with data engineering teams to design and maintain schemas and collectionsRequired Skills and Qualifications:To be successful in this role, you will need the following skills and qualifications:Proven experience as a DBA in production environments, preferably with NoSQL or distributed databasesHands-on experience with DataStax Astra DB, especially vector database featuresFamiliarity with GenAI use cases, semantic search, and vector embeddingsProficiency in Python or similar scripting languages for automation and data operationsExperience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and multi-region deploymentsStrong understanding of database security, performance tuning, and monitoringBenefits:This role offers a competitive salary and benefits package, including:Opportunity to work on cutting-edge technology and projectsCollaborative and dynamic work environmentProfessional development and growth opportunitiesWhat We're Looking For:We're looking for a highly motivated and experienced professional who is passionate about database administration and eager to take on new challenges.
