ResponsibilitiesJob Title: Lead Software Engineer – MainframeExperience: 7+ yearsRole OverviewWe are seeking a hands-on Lead Software Engineer (Mainframe) to design and deliver scalable, secure, and high‑performance backend systems. This role emphasizes technical excellence, mentorship, driving projects to completion, and clear stakeholder communication.Key ResponsibilitiesFunction Lead from both technical and delivery perspective with focus more on project and resource managementAbility to effectively influence, direct and monitor the project workUses established relationships in effective collaboration with other levels, within team, within business area and across business areas.Develop strong understanding of the businessDevelop and Support decision making , good Business communication skills across multiple levelsAbility to successfully manage and take accountability for projects including identifying necessary resources, communicating and establishing and meeting deadlines.Ability to effectively resolve conflictsGood Understanding on development frameworks and standard procedures followed within the organizationEnsure alignment to business strategiesChallenges ideas, methods, guidelines and procedures to promote discussion and thinkingSupports and develops strategic thinking / drivesAct as a point of escalation and resolution during the project lifecycleSupports in performance evaluations and mentors team members through formal (Data, Reports etc..) and informal channelsStrong capability of executing project /operations in terms of deliveries, managing risks, ensuring overall qualityAdheres and ensures that the Team adheres to the standard process and procedures set in place for executionConsistently raises the bar by going beyond day-to-day performance expectationsDevelop planning/organizational, problem-solving, analytical, time management, and decision making skillsQualificationsMust‑Have Skills (Java)COBOL, JCL, DB2Debugging toolsGood to HaveCICSVSAMSoft SkillsStrong problem-solving, analytical thinking, and bias for action.Plans, prioritizes, and communicates effectively across teams and time zones.Mentors teammates, provides clear, constructive feedback.Demonstrates ownership, raises the bar, and consistently exceeds day-to-day expectations.Identifies ambiguity/risks and proactively drives clarity and resolution with stakeholders.
