Senior Data Engineer OpportunityWe are seeking an experienced Senior Data Engineer to lead the development and maintenance of data pipelines supporting our Operational Data Store (ODS) modernization and migration to AWS.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, and deploy scalable data pipelines for batch and real-time data ingestion into AWS services such as Aurora, DynamoDB, S3, and Redshift.Migrate data from legacy systems to target AWS data stores while ensuring seamless integration and minimal disruption to existing processes.Build and optimize streaming data applications using Kafka, Kafka Connect, and/or AWS Kinesis/EventBridge to ensure efficient data processing and delivery.Implement data validation, cleansing, and transformation logic based on specifications from the Data Architect to ensure accurate and reliable data delivery.Develop and manage data APIs and services to expose data securely to consuming microservices, adhering to industry-standard security protocols.Collaborate with development teams to implement optimal data storage solutions (SQL/NoSQL) for their services, balancing performance, scalability, and cost-effectiveness.Monitor pipeline performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement optimizations to ensure reliability and scalability.Work closely with the Data Architect to translate logical data models into physical implementations and working pipelines, ensuring alignment with business objectives.Document data lineage and pipeline metadata to facilitate knowledge sharing and improve data quality.Troubleshoot data quality issues across the ingestion and transformation layers to minimize downtime and maximize productivity.Partner with domain teams to understand source system data structures and integration requirements, ensuring seamless data exchange.Collaborate with DevOps to containerize data applications (Docker) and deploy them on Kubernetes (EKS) to ensure efficient scaling and high availability.Support the integration of data platforms with CIAM for security and API Gateway for management to ensure robust access control and data protection.Act as a mentor to junior Data Engineers, providing guidance on pipeline development best practices and AWS data services to enhance their skills and expertise.Participate in architecture reviews and provide input on pipeline feasibility and performance implications to inform strategic decisions.
