Our mission is to democratize advanced manufacturing analysis, making sophisticated DFM (Design for Manufacturing) and moldflow analysis accessible worldwide through an intuitive drag-and-drop interface.Role Overview We are seeking a passionate AI Engineer to lead the development of our core AI analysis engine. You will architect and implement machine learning models that analyze 3D CAD geometry in real-time, predict manufacturing issues, and provide actionable recommendations to improve design manufacturability. This is a founding engineering role with high ownership, technical autonomy, and growth potential.Key ResponsibilitiesAI/ML DevelopmentDesign and implement ML models for geometric analysis of injection-molded plastic parts.Develop computer vision algorithms for automated feature detection in 3D CAD models.Build predictive models for manufacturing cost estimation, cycle time prediction, and defect analysis.Create real-time inference engines optimized for browser-based deployment (TensorFlow.js/ONNX.js).Design data pipelines for continuous model training and improvement.Platform ArchitectureArchitect browser-based AI systems capable of efficiently processing large 3D models.Integrate STEP/STL file processing with AI analysis workflows.Develop WebAssembly modules for high-performance geometry computation.Build scalable model-serving infrastructure for real-time analysis.Implement feedback loops to continuously improve model accuracy.Manufacturing AnalysisDevelop DFM analysis algorithms for wall thickness, draft angles, undercuts, and gate placement.Build AI-accelerated moldflow simulation capabilities.Create cost optimization engines recommending design changes for manufacturability.Implement quality prediction models for common injection molding defects.Design automated report generation delivering actionable manufacturing insights.Research & InnovationStay current with AI/ML advances in manufacturing and CAD analysis.Experiment with techniques such as neural radiance fields and graph neural networks for 3D data.Collaborate with manufacturing experts to validate AI recommendations.Publish research and represent the company at industry conferences.Required QualificationsTechnical Expertise4+ years of AI/ML engineering experience with production deployments.Strong proficiency in Python with TensorFlow, PyTorch, or equivalent frameworks.Experience with 3D geometry processing (Open3D, PCL, etc.).JavaScript/TypeScript expertise for browser-based AI deployment (TensorFlow.js, ONNX.js).Computer vision and geometric deep learning experience.Knowledge of CAD file formats (STEP, STL, OBJ) and 3D mesh processing.Experience in fine-tuning ML models.Software EngineeringWebAssembly development for high-performance browser applications.Cloud platform experience (AWS, GCP, Azure) for model training and deployment.Database design for large geometric datasets.Strong version control and CI/CD practices.Mathematical FoundationLinear algebra, calculus, statistics, and probability.Computational geometry and mesh processing algorithms.Optimization techniques for design parameter tuning.Preferred QualificationsDomain KnowledgeManufacturing engineering background, preferably injection molding.CAD software experience (SolidWorks, Fusion 360, etc.).Finite element analysis (FEA) or computational fluid dynamics (CFD).Materials science knowledge for plastics.Advanced Technical SkillsGraph neural networks for CAD geometry representation.Reinforcement learning for design optimization.Physics-informed neural networks for manufacturing simulation.Edge computing and model compression techniques.Real-time rendering with WebGL/Three.js.Education & ExperienceBachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.2+ years in manufacturing technology or CAD software companies.Experience at high-growth startups building production-ready technical products.Open source contributions in AI/ML or manufacturing tools a plus.
