Purpose of the Role

The VP-HR will provide strategic leadership in designing and executing HR initiatives that align with organizational goals. The role ensures effective workforce planning, employee engagement, and policy management while fostering a culture of excellence and inclusivity.


Strategic Responsibilities

1. Design and implement HR strategies aligned with the organization’s business objectives.

2. Act as a key advisor to the leadership team on workforce planning, organizational development, and change management.

3. Develop and promote policies to attract, retain, and engage top talent.

4. Oversee the creation of leadership development programs to build a strong pipeline of future leaders.

5. Ensure compliance with labor laws and regulations across all HR functions.


Operational Responsibilities


1. Talent Acquisition and Onboarding:

a. Oversee recruitment strategies, including full-time employees, freelancers, and consultants.

b. Manage the onboarding process, ensuring a seamless integration for new hires.


2. Performance Management and Learning:

a. Design and implement performance evaluation frameworks and KPIs.

b. Conduct learning needs assessments and oversee the creation of a comprehensive training calendar.


3. Policy and Compliance:

a. Review, draft, and implement HR policies to meet legal and organizational standards.

b. Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with employment laws and internal policies.


4. Employee Relations and Engagement:

a. Address employee grievances and create an inclusive environment.

b. Lead employee engagement initiatives to foster motivation and productivity.


5. Exit Management:

a. Oversee offboarding processes, including exit interviews and knowledge transfer.

b. Use exit feedback to recommend organizational improvements.


Technical Competencies (Critical):

• Strategic workforce planning and HR analytics.

• Expertise in labor laws, policy development, and compliance.

• Proficiency in HR technology platforms and tools.


Behavioural Competencies (Critical):

• Leadership and decision-making abilities.

• Strong interpersonal and conflict resolution skills.

• High emotional intelligence and cultural sensitivity.


Nice-to-Have Competencies:

• Knowledge of media and venture studio-specific HR challenges.

• Familiarity with startup ecosystems and agile working environments.


Internal Stakeholders:

• Leadership team

• Department heads and function heads

• Employees across levels


External Stakeholders:

• Recruitment agencies and talent consultants

• Legal and compliance advisors

• Learning and development vendors


Educational Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (Master’s preferred).
