Are you an experienced Civil Designer with a passion for civil engineering projects? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join our team in a role that requires assisting Project Engineers with design and drafting of site servicing plans, grading, stormwater management designs, construction services, and water resource modeling using HEC-RAS for floodplain analysis.As a Civil Designer, you will play a crucial role in land development by preparing detailed design drawings in accordance with local standards and guidelines, project specifications, and calculations for stormwater management, functional servicing, and floodplain cut and fill analysis. This position is integral to the preparation of land development projects for residential, commercial, and industrial purposes.Primary Responsibilities:· Complete design drawings in accordance with project specifications, local standards, and guidelines.· Prepare preliminary and detailed design drawings using AutoCAD Civil 3D, or other computer-assisted design/drafting equipment.· Coordinate project drawings with project engineers and others involved in the project.· Ensure that project needs are met in a timely and effective manner.· Work under the direction of senior engineers working collaboratively as part of a team.· Provide support in the design, drafting, modification, and evaluation of civil engineering for land development projects.Experience and Qualifications:· A minimum of three years of experience in civil engineering, preferably from a consulting engineering office environment.· A bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a related field.· Proficient knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D is a mandatory requirement, along with strong computer software skills in MS Word and Excel, and PDF viewer.· Familiarity with various municipal and regional design and drafting standards and guidelines in Ontario, Canada.· Experience in preparing preliminary and detailed design drawings associated with land development projects, including site servicing, site grading, stormwater management, and floodplain management.· Independent, organized, and motivated team players with excellent oral and written communication skills.· Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities and projects in a fast-paced turnaround environment.· Skills in HEC-RAS for floodplain analysis and water resource modeling are a bonus.Technical Skills in Civil 3D Software:We expect candidates to have intermediate to senior-level proficiency in the following civil design skills:Site servicing, including water mains, sanitary sewers, and storm sewers, storm drainage.Site gradings.Earthworks cut and fill material estimates.Creating pipe system networks.Generating plans and profiles, cross-section views.This is an opportunity for you to grow into a valued and integral member of our organization.
