Job OpportunityWe are seeking an experienced and skilled Freelance OpenShift Engineer to support the deployment, scaling, automation, and ongoing management of OpenShift clusters and cloud infrastructure.The ideal candidate will have extensive hands-on experience with container orchestration, CI/CD pipelines, monitoring solutions, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) within GCP environments. This role involves close collaboration with development, security, and operations teams to ensure a secure, scalable, and high-performing platform.ResponsibilitiesCluster Management: Deploy, configure, and manage OpenShift clusters, including version upgrades, patching, scaling, and cluster lifecycle management.Application Deployment: Deploy, manage, and scale containerized applications using the oc CLI, OpenShift Web Console, and Kubernetes-native tooling.CI/CD Pipelines: Design and implement CI/CD pipelines integrating tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or GitLab for automated build, test, and deployment workflows.Monitoring and Alerting: Configure and maintain monitoring and alerting using Prometheus, Grafana, and related tools to ensure reliability and performance across GCP and OpenShift environments.Troubleshooting: Troubleshoot platform and application issues, perform root cause analysis, and deliver timely resolutions.Security and Compliance: Implement security best practices, including RBAC, policies, network security, and compliance within Kubernetes/OpenShift.Infrastructure as Code: Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform to automate provisioning and configuration of GCP resources.Collaboration: Collaborate with development, operations, architecture, and security teams to support application readiness and platform optimization.Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation, runbooks, and configuration references.Lifecycle Operations: Manage lifecycle operations including control plane/worker node upgrades, certificate renewals, and platform maintenance.RequirementsOpenShift Experience: Strong hands-on experience in OpenShift cluster management, Kubernetes, and container orchestration.Certifications and Tools: Proficiency with oc CLI, YAML manifests, Operators, Deployments, StatefulSets, Routes, and ConfigMaps.CI/CD Pipelines: Experience building and supporting CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab, or similar).Monitoring and Observability: Expertise in monitoring/observability using Prometheus, Grafana, Alertmanager, or similar tools.GCP Knowledge: Solid knowledge of GCP cloud services, IAM, networking, load balancers, and cloud resource management.Terraform and IaC: Strong proficiency in Terraform and Infrastructure as Code practices.Problem-Solving: Experience troubleshooting complex platform-level issues and conducting root cause analysis.Security Understanding: Understanding of security, RBAC, container security, and Kubernetes/OpenShift best practices.Communication Skills: Excellent communication, documentation, and cross-functional collaboration skills.Candidate ProfileSelf-Driven Engineer: Self-driven engineer comfortable owning the full lifecycle of OpenShift clusters.Problem-Solving Skills: Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently under minimal supervision.Technical Versatility: Versatile across cloud, DevOps, and container orchestration technologies.Attention to Detail: Detail-oriented with a strong focus on reliability, performance, and security.
