Key Roles and ResponsibilitiesThe primary objective of this engagement is to develop high-quality assessment items aligned with state standards and assessments across multiple states. The Subject Matter Expert (SME) will ensure the quality and accuracy of English Language Arts (ELA) content.Create assessment questions in compliance with state test blueprints for ELA grades 3-8 and English I.Collaborate with the Learning Design team to generate and review AI-generated multiple-choice and non-multiple-choice questions developed for each grade level and state.The SME will evaluate the questions for accuracy, pedagogical relevance, rigor, and alignment to standards and/or Unpacked Standards Measurable Objectives (USMOs). They will also author items, including sources or creating passages as necessary, ensuring that each item meets the specified ELA standard, is original, meets the expected rigor, adheres to pedagogical best practices, and aligns with client guidelines.Required Skills and QualificationsTo be successful in this role, the candidate must possess the following skills and qualifications:Deep knowledge of English Language Arts (ELA) standards and assessments.Excellent question development and evaluation skills.Able to work collaboratively with the Learning Design team.BenefitsThis engagement offers a unique opportunity for the Subject Matter Expert to contribute to the development of high-quality assessment items that meet the needs of multiple states.
