About us:Basic Healthcare Services (BHS) is a not-for-profit organization with a vision of marginalized and vulnerable communities lead a healthy life with dignity. The organization runs a network of primary healthcare centres called AMRIT Clinics, that provide high-quality and low-cost primary health care to rural and tribal communities in south Rajasthan. Six such clinics serve a population of nearly 100,000, approximately 90% of which is tribal. BHS is a leading voice on primary healthcare in the country and also conducts implementation research aimed at strengthening the public health systems. BHS is committed to improving the nutritional status of the community, starting with young children. In response to high levels of child malnutrition in the communities we serve, BHS set up a network of day-care centers called Phulwaris, that provide nutrition, stimulation and healthcare to children from 6 months to five years. BHS operates 17 Phulwaris across the Salumbar and Udaipur districts. Through our Phulwari program, we ensure that children are well-nourished and have a safe, supportive environment to grow. In addition, we are working towards strengthening our Early Childhood Development (ECD) program, where your contribution will be vital. As an ECD Fellow, you will play a key role in designing, implementing, monitoring, and training staff in essential child health and development services. What does work in BHS bring to a young professional? Fellow-ECD will be part of a multi-disciplinary team working in the realm of primary healthcare for vulnerable communities living in remote, rural regions. You will gain in-depth understanding and skills in running high-quality primary healthcare services; designing and implementing capacity building programs for the healthcare teams and measuring the impact; and understanding the communities and the interrelations between primary health care and social determinants of health. You will be mentored by senior public health professionals at BHS and our partner organizations. Key Responsibilities:-         Work closely with Executive (Nutrition) to develop the strategy and implementation plan, design age appropriate activities and subsequently conduct them for children age 6 months to 5 years in the Phulwaris as a part of the Early Childhood Development program. -         Provide training and mentorship to the phulwari supervisors including Phulwari workers, on ECD activities and child care best practices.-         Document the implementation of activities and share field experiences.-         Be a part of the team executing child care-related activities, optimizing services at the Phulwaris. The team includes nutritionists, public health professionals, field supervisors, and other experts.Eligibility criteria:·        Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field·        Minimum one year of experience in the Early Childhood Development (ECD) sector preferably in rural sectorPlace of Posting: Your will be based out of Salumber clustered. The Fellow - ECD role requires immersion in both AMRIT Clinics, phulwaris, and the communities they serve.Remuneration: Your remuneration will be based on organization policy and the qualifications and experience of the candidate.
