API Solutions ArchitectThe role involves designing and implementing a robust and scalable API ecosystem using IBM's API management technologies. We are seeking an experienced professional to own the entire API lifecycle, from design through deployment, monitoring, governance, and retirement. Develop APIs using IBM API Connect, DataPower gateways, or equivalent platforms. Establish API governance policies, including authentication/authorization, rate limits, quotas, versioning, and lifecycle management. Manage the API gateway, covering routing, transformation, orchestration, protocol mediation (REST, SOAP, GraphQL), and traffic control. Configure and maintain the developer portal, publishing APIs, onboarding internal/external consumers, documentation, and self-service subscription. Monitor API usage, performance, latency, and error metrics; analyze usage patterns and production issues. Handle API security and resilience, securing back-end integrations, payload validation, threat mitigation, and high-availability. Familiarity with AWS cloud services like API Gateway, S3, EKS is desirable. Stay updated with API management best practices, emerging protocols (GraphQL, WebSockets), and evolving IBM tool capabilities.
