Engineer / Senior Engineer - Frontend Location - GurgaonRole Summary As a Front-End Engineer/Lead Front-End Engineer, you will be responsible for defining and implementing the architecture of our frontend applications, ensuring high performance, scalability, and a seamless user experience. You will lead the initiative to split Magento modules into microservices and micro-frontends, implementing best practices for internationalization and localization. Your focus will be on achieving page load times of less than one second while enhancing core web vitals metrics.Key technologies used (But not limited to): Frontend Frameworks: ReactJS, Next.js, Magento Microservices Architecture Micro-frontend Architecture Internationalization and Localization (i18n, l10n) Performance Optimization Tools Core Web Vitals MonitoringJob Responsibilities Implement Frontend Solutions: Design and implement a modular and scalable frontend architecture using ReactJS and Next.js. Lead the transition from traditional Magento frontend to a microservices-based architecture. Design and implement micro-frontend solutions to allow independent deployment and scaling of frontend components.Performance Optimization: Ensure frontend applications meet performance benchmarks, specifically targeting page load times under one second. Optimize web applications for Core Web Vitals, focusing on metrics like Largest Contentful Paint (LCP), First Input Delay (FID), and Cumulative Layout Shift (CLS). Conduct performance audits and implement best practices to enhance application responsiveness and loading speed.Internationalization and Localization: Develop and implement strategies for internationalization and localization, ensuring all applications support multiple languages and themes seamlessly. Collaborate with product teams to design localized experiences that cater to diverse markets.Collaboration and Leadership: Collaborate with backend teams to define APIs that support the microservices architecture. Mentor and guide frontend development teams on best practices, code reviews, and architectural decisions. Work closely with UX/UI designers to ensure high-quality visual and interactive designs are implemented effectively.Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on the latest trends and technologies in frontend development, advocating for their adoption when relevant. Drive the adoption of new tools and methodologies that improve the development workflow and enhance application quality.Code Quality and Best Practices: Establish coding standards and best practices for the development team to ensure maintainability and performance. Implement automated testing strategies to ensure code quality and reduce regressions.Job Requirements Educational Qualification and Experience Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent work experience. 3-7 years of experience in architecting high performing frontend using ReactJS, NextJS and other FrontEnd technologies.Technical Skills Extensive experience in ReactJS and Next.js frameworks. Strong understanding of Magento frontend architecture and experience in transforming it into microservices and micro-frontend structures. Proven experience with performance optimization techniques and tools, particularly related to web vitals. Knowledge of internationalization and localization frameworks and best practices. Strong understanding of frontend build tools and CI/CD pipelines. Familiarity with state management libraries (e.g., Redux, MobX). Proficient in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript standards. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Familiarity with testing frameworks (e.g., Jest, Cypress) for frontend applications. Understanding of backend technologies or API design principles. Experience with cloud services or serverless architecture in the context of frontend applications. Implementation and extensive experience of APM tools like NewRelicor Sentry.
