Senior Accountant RoleWe are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team.The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of financial accounting principles and experience in property or real estate accounting. This role involves preparing monthly management accounts, collaborating with teams across various functions, and providing insights into financial variances.Key ResponsibilitiesMonthly Management Accounts Preparation:Preparation and review of the monthly Profit & Loss (P&L) and Balance Sheet for multiple properties.Ensure accuracy and consistency in the financial statements, in line with company accounting policies and procedures.Business Partnering & Stakeholder Communication:Collaborate with Finance Managers in the UK and Operations teams to ensure the accuracy of monthly management accounts.Analyze financial results and variances, providing detailed explanations and addressing queries to enhance business understanding.Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams to clarify discrepancies and improve financial reporting processes.VAT Returns:Prepare and review VAT returns for the properties in compliance with local tax regulations.Property-Focused Financial Analysis:Support the financial management of a portfolio of properties, including a new fund with four properties and a Spanish property.Work closely with local teams to ensure that all financial and operational aspects are accurately reflected in the financial accounts.RequirementsTo be successful in this role, you will need:A minimum of 3 years of relevant accounting experience.Experience in property or real estate accounting is preferred but not essential.Intermediate Spanish proficiency (reading and writing) is essential, especially for the Spanish property.A strong understanding of accounting principles, P&L, Balance Sheets, and VAT returns.Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
