Technical Project Manager

About Position: We are seeking a seasoned Technical Project Manager (TPM) in India to lead and coordinate a high-performing offshore squad of data engineering contractors for our higher education client. You will serve as the primary point of contact between the offshore team and U.S.-based leadership, ensuring seamless execution of data engineering projects. This role requires deep, hands-on expertise with SQL, DBT, Python, Snowflake, AWS, and various BI platforms to guide technical teams through implementation, debugging, and architectural decisions. Role: Technical Project Manager Location: Bangalore Experience: 11 to 15 Years Job Type: Full Time Employment What You'll Do: Manage multiple India-based squads, providing day-to-day guidance, coaching, and performance management. Foster a culture of technical excellence, ownership, and continuous improvement within the squad. Oversee onboarding and skill development for new team members. Cross-Shore Collaboration: Align squad priorities with U.S.-based data engineering leadership and product stakeholders, ensuring smooth handoffs and clear communication of technical requirements and deliverables. Serve as the primary liaison between offshore squads and U.S. teams, proactively addressing blockers and ensuring alignment on timelines and expectations. Technical Planning & Execution: Partner with U.S. data and analytics engineering leaders to translate business and analytical requirements into scalable, robust data solutions. Participate in architecture and design reviews for data pipelines, data models, and cloud infrastructure. Assist with code reviews and troubleshooting. Guide the squad in troubleshooting complex data pipeline issues, performance tuning, and implementation best practices. Hands-on expertise required in: SQL DBT Python Snowflake AWS Cloud Infrastructure BI Agile Expertise You'll Bring: Technical Skills - This role requires deep, hands-on expertise with SQL, DBT, Python, AWS, and various BI platforms to guide technical teams through implementation, debugging, and architectural decisions. Management Skills - Agile Delivery Management, Stakeholder Management, Talent Development, Technical Planning & Execution Deep understanding of Agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban) and experience running Agile ceremonies for data engineering teams. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills with the ability to translate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
