Real-Time Communications Backend EngineerWe're seeking a skilled backend engineer to design and build scalable back-end services that power real-time communications analytics and automation.Main Responsibilities:Develop efficient backend APIs, background jobs, and secure integrations with external services using Python and Django.Create and optimize data pipelines for call/quality metrics; own observability, tracing, and SLOs (p95/p99).Troubleshoot SIP/VoIP issues using packet captures and logs; automate analysis where possible.Containerize workloads with Docker, contribute to continuous integration/continuous deployment, and collaborate on cloud deployment.Apply distributed-systems patterns for scale and fault tolerance.Design data models in PostgreSQL and MongoDB; optimize indexes and queries; maintain database migration discipline.Requirements:Proficiency in Python & Django: RESTful APIs, authentication/authorization, background tasks, testing, and performance tuning.Fundamental knowledge of networking: TCP/IP, DNS, TLS, HTTP/2; practical debugging skills with tools like Wireshark; familiarity with NetFlow/SNMP.Understanding of telephony domain: SIP signaling, RTP/RTCP, call flows, PSTN/VoIP basics; exposure to session border controllers.Cloud & DevOps experience: Working knowledge of Azure/AWS, Docker; Kubernetes exposure is a plus; comfort with CI/CD and secrets management.Distributed systems expertise: Microservices, event-driven design (queues/streams), horizontal scaling, resilience patterns.Hands-on experience with databases: PostgreSQL and MongoDB (schema design, indexing, migrations, backups/restore).
