Job Summary:Lead Database AdministratorWe are seeking a seasoned professional with deep expertise in DB2 databases and proven experience in migrating on-premises databases to AWS RDS Aurora PostgreSQL. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in modernizing our database infrastructure, leading large-scale migrations, and ensuring data integrity, performance, and scalability throughout the process.Main ResponsibilitiesDatabase Architecture & Design:Define comprehensive database models, schemas, and structures for applications.Evaluate and choose the most suitable database technologies.Performance Optimization:Monitor system performance (queries, indexes, workloads).Optimize queries, indexing strategies, and storage for high availability and low latency.Database Operations & Maintenance:Oversee backups, restores, patching, replication, and failover strategies.Ensure disaster recovery plans are in place and tested regularly.Data Governance & Security:Implement robust access control, encryption, and compliance standards.Ensure data integrity, consistency, and auditability across the organization.Leadership & Coordination:Lead a team of DBAs (Database Administrators), data engineers, or developers.Work collaboratively with application architects, project managers, and other technical leads.Cloud & Modernisation:Manage cloud database services efficiently.Plan and lead database modernisation efforts (e.g., migrating from on-prem to cloud).
