POSITION DETAILS

Position Summary

As the Senior FEA Analyst, you will be responsible for performing linear, non-linear, steady state & transient stress analysis, fatigue analysis, vibration analysis, fluid dynamic simulations for Hydraulic valves and Manifold systems used in the Aerospace and Defense Industry. She/he should be a highly motivated individual and is expected to work with minimal direction.

Principal Activities

  • Interact with CIRCOR’s global Design Engineering teams to understand objectives, identify relevance of FEA and CFD analysis for the case at hand, interpret physics involved, determine most suitable meshing strategy & solver schemes to address them, execute the analysis independently using the available software and finally recommend design improvements based on the simulated results
  • Enthusiastically participate in preliminary, informal and formal analysis as required by the customers
  • Should be able to defend analysis results in all the internal and end customers reviews
  • Prepare technical reports of analysis with good documentation procedures
  • Prepare concise presentations and communicate results to internal customers, as well as directly to the end customer when needed
  • Efficiently prioritize the management of multiple projects at the same time
  • Update work status to reporting Manager and assist in planning/ prioritizing works
  • Record, collate and prepare the time sheet, metrics data for on-time delivery, quality (first time right), productivity, utilization KPIs and report on weekly/monthly basis as suggested by the reporting Manager
  • Establish standard operating procedures and best practices
  • Stay up-to-date with the technological enhancements in the FEA and CFD analysis area and recommend new methods and products to enhance the accuracy, quality, and ease use of FEA and CFD analysis tools
  • Accountable for preparing quality Flow analysis Reports for the project(s) is/are carried out.
  • Ensure customer approved techniques are used, seek and get approval on the results from customer for every delivery of analysis results and reports.
  • Participate in the formal design reviews like PDR/CDR, own the FEA and CFD analysis results and support the review(s)
  • Manage FEA and CFD analysis projects and ensure that customer schedules requirements are met

Knowledge Skills & Abilities

  • Exposure to CAD software to edit input solid models / build simple models
  • Strong knowledge in Strength of Materials, Fluid Mechanics, Heat Transfer & Thermal Engineering
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capability (8D, 3A) to understand the problem at hand and come up with quick and innovative solutions
  • Strong hands-on experience with ANSYS Mechanical and ANSYS Fluent / CFX
  • Ability to communicate effectively with diverse global teams
  • Positive attitude towards issues, problems, and challenges
  • Demonstrated ability to influence others and impact change
  • Well organized
  • Effective interpersonal and team building skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a rapidly changing environment

Education

  • B.E. / B.Tech. Degree in Mechanical Engineering. Masters in streams relevant to FEA / CFD has an added advantage
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in FEA and CFD analysis including pre-processing, processing, and post processing using ANSYS & worked with Aerospace / Defense Industry
  • Must have strong hands-on experience with ANSYS Mechanical (static structural analysis, thermal stress, contact analysis) and ANSYS Fluent / CFX Fluid-dynamic simulations (steady state simulation, incompressible and compressible fluids, laminar and turbulent flow, subsonic and supersonic)
  • Nice to have an experience in Fluid-structure interaction (FSI) & Flow induced vibration (FIV)
  • Preferably to have an FEA and CFD Experience with Aerospace / Defense hydraulic products Design/Development /Analysis etc.,
  • Product knowledge of Valves (Solenoid Valves, Selector Valves, Pressure Regulators) and Complex Manifolds with multiple fluid channels
