Lead Specialist - Investments (OCIO – Private Markets – Investment Solutions)

As a member of the Fund Operations Team you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operational aspects of Mercer private markets funds.

We will count on you to:

  • Liaise with external stakeholders such as fund administrators, investment managers, and auditors.
  • Develop and drive process improvement initiatives to enhance quality and efficiency.
  • Play an important role in a new team, working closely with colleagues in other locations.
  • Review financial statements and fund reports.
  • Execute investor capital calls and distributions.
  • Contribute to the cash management process of the funds.
  • Manage investor communications via client team.
  • Assist the onboarding team with new investor closings.
  • Support the audit of the funds.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including investment teams, portfolio management, legal & compliance, and technology.

What you need to have:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in finance, Economics, Management, Mathematics, Engineering, or a similar field.
  • CAIA, CFA charterholder or any progress towards it would be preferred.
  • Previous experience working with Python, SQL or equivalent is required.
  • Experience in Big4, or asset management within a leading administrator and/or fund manager (3-5 years' experience) with a basic understanding of core fund operations, including fund accounting, middle office & TA is preferred.
  • Knowledge of private markets asset classes, including Private Equity, Private Debt, Infrastructure, and Real Estate is preferred.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Positive and proactive attitude.
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic, high-performing team, supporting colleagues while managing. your own tasks and projects.
