As a Principal Engineer – Cloud Infrastructure, you will be a key member of the CFL Platform Engineering and Operations team, you will lead the architecture and execution of infrastructure platforms that enable reliability, scalability, security, and developer productivity at scale.This is a strategic technical leadership role, driving cloud adoption, automation, and infrastructure architecture across multiple business domains. You’ll partner with engineering, security, AI, and SRE teams to build robust platforms that support multi-cloud deployments, CI/CD automation, zero-downtime operations, and cost-effective scaling.What You’ll Do:Architect and evolve cloud-native infrastructure platforms supporting mission-critical services across AWS, Azure, GCP, or OCILead the design and implementation of automated provisioning, scaling, and observability systems using IaC (Terraform, Pulumi, or ARM)Define and maintain standards for network architecture, service mesh, IAM, and cloud resource managementDrive adoption of immutable infrastructure, container orchestration (Kubernetes), and scalable infrastructure patternsDevelop strategies for high availability, disaster recovery, and zero-downtime deploymentsOptimize CI/CD workflows across multiple environments, enabling safe and frequent releasesCollaborate with SRE and DevOps teams to deliver resilient infrastructure that supports SLAs, SLIs, and SLOsIdentify opportunities to reduce toil through automation, telemetry, and self-service toolingEmbed cloud security best practices into architecture, including policy-as-code, identity, and data protectionPartner with security and compliance teams to ensure audit readiness, guardrails, and platform governanceMonitor cloud usage and drive cost optimizations, scaling plans, and accountability across environmentsLead architectural decision-making and reviews for infrastructure initiatives across multiple domainsMentor engineers across teams in cloud architecture, DevOps, and scalable platform practicesCollaborate with TPMs, Product, and Architecture leaders to align cloud strategy with business outcomesRepresent cloud engineering in executive technical discussions, roadmap reviews, and enterprise platform forumsWhat You’ll Bring:Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field7-12 years of experience in infrastructure, DevOps, or cloud platform engineeringDeep expertise in cloud platforms (Azure preferred; AWS, GCP, OCI also relevant)Proven experience architecting secure, scalable, and automated infrastructure for enterprise environmentsHands-on experience with Terraform, GitLab CI/CD, Kubernetes, and cloud-native architecture patternsFamiliarity with HAProxy, load balancing, service discovery, and API gateway solutionsExperience supporting distributed microservices, hybrid workloads, and platform engineering initiativesDemonstrated ability to lead technical projects across large-scale, multi-team organizationsMust Have Skills:Application & Microservice: Java, Spring boot, API & Service DesignAny CI/CD Tools : Gitlab Pipeline/Test Automation/GitHub Actions/ Jenkins /Circle CIApp Platform: Docker & Containers (Kubernetes)Any Databases : SQL & NOSQL (Cassandra/Oracle/Snowflake/MongoDB)Any Messaging: Kafka, Rabbit MQAny Observability/Monitoring: Splunk/ Grafana/ Open Telemetry /ELK Stack/ Datadog/ New Relic/ Prometheus)Cloud Infra: AWS & AzureNice To Have:Data governance strategy: SQL Server/MongoDB encryption, masking, access policiesEnterprise cloud reference architecture (Azure, AWS, Databricks)Exec reporting, risk registers, modernization strategyFinOps governance: showback/chargeback, cost optimizationResilience playbooks: chaos engineering, cross-cloud failover
