About the roleWe are seeking a professional to fill a Cost Analyst position.The successful candidate will be responsible for transitioning BU level costing activities to finance, establishing processes for analyzing variances and providing business insights to reduce discrepancies from established standards.Key responsibilities include:Single point of contact for SAP product costingRegular review of materials pending for cost release and liaison with markets for timely updates of standard costsEnd-to-end support for releasing standard costs following group methodologyConducting reviews to ensure accuracy of standard costsOperational analysis includes analyzing procurement transactions, reviewing exceptions and abnormal variances, factory variance analysis and developing reports for insights into price and factory variances.Month close activities involve reviewing gross stocks, calculating variances based on group policies and adherence to standard methodology for calculating provisions.The ideal candidate should have a certified accountant qualification, university degree and minimum eight years of post-qualification work experience in a manufacturing organization. Strong analytical and logical thinking skills are required as well as proficiency in spreadsheet applications and reporting tools.Responsibilities also include liaising with various stakeholders to ensure accurate financial data and meeting deadlines for reporting and decision making purposes.Additionally, the successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy within the team.They must have excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and present findings to senior management.
