Agricultural Technology Solutions Specialist

The Climate Smart Agriculture Solutions Specialist will play a key role in identifying, evaluating, and deploying climate-resilient agricultural technologies across various agricultural value chains. The specialist will collaborate with technology providers, implementing partners, and financial institutions to assess the impact of these technologies, estimate greenhouse gas reductions, and design financing solutions that promote their adoption and scaling.Key responsibilities will include:Identifying and evaluating climate-resilient agricultural technologies suited to selected value chainsWorking with technology providers and agribusinesses to assess the performance of these technologies in terms of productivity improvement, input efficiency, and resource reductionDeveloping metrics and methodologies to estimate greenhouse gas emission reductions attributed to specific technologies or farming practicesTranslating agronomic and sustainability benefits into financing metrics to support tailored loan product design for financial institutionsSupporting stakeholder engagements, including farmer groups, anchor firms, and lenders, to identify barriers to technology adoptionContinuously tracking and applying relevant global and national best practices in sustainable agriculture, climate-resilient agriculture, and digital agriculture finance to strengthen project implementationCollaborating with financial institutions, government agencies, and other stakeholders to promote innovative and scalable agriculture finance models, exploring opportunities for adoption and scale-up of digitally enabled and climate-resilient financing models where relevantWorking closely with departments, teams, clients, government counterparts, and stakeholders to identify investment opportunities in productive, inclusive, and resilient agriculture, including climate-resilient agriculture and digital innovations as applicableConducting workshops, training sessions, and awareness programs to build capacity among financial institutions, agribusinesses, and other stakeholders on climate-resilient agriculture practices and financing solutionsPreparing comprehensive reports, case studies, and policy briefs to document project outcomes, good practices, and lessons learnedMonitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of implemented solutions and providing recommendations for continuous improvementAssisting the team in preparing progress reports and project documentation for internal and external stakeholdersMonitoring project implementation to ensure timely delivery of activities, outputs, and outcomes, tracking progress against defined indicatorsThe ideal candidate will possess advanced knowledge in agriculture, environmental science, agricultural economics, rural development, or a related field, coupled with minimum 8 years of professional experience in agricultural finance, sustainable agriculture, or climate-resilient value chains. A strong understanding of local and global agribusiness environments, as well as awareness of climate-resilient technologies and emerging market opportunities, is essential.
