JOB SUMMARY:
The IT Assets Support role is responsible for assisting in the tracking, management, and reporting of all IT assets within the organization. This role involves monitoring asset lifecycle, maintaining inventory accuracy, and ensuring compliance with asset management policies. The L1 support specialist also assists in the allocation and deallocation of assets and provides first- level supportrelated to assetrequests, repairs, and audits.
Key Responsibilities:
Asset Management & Tracking:
- Maintain and update the IT asset database with accurate and timely information.
- Assist in the allocation, deallocation, and redistribution of IT assets(laptops, desktops, peripherals, etc.).
- Track asset lifecycle, from procurement to retirement, ensuringproper disposal or recycling of retiredassets.
- Record any changes or transfers of ownership for IT assets across different departments.
Inventory Control:
- Perform regularphysical and virtualaudits to ensureinventory accuracy.
- Support in maintaining stock levels for commonly used hardware and peripherals.
- Collaborate with procurement teams to ensurenew hardware and software purchases are recorded and tracked properly.
- Compliance &Reporting:
- Ensure IT assets comply with company policies, licensing agreements, and legal requirements.
- Generate reports on asset utilization, assignments, and availability for the IT management team.
- Assist in asset audits and reconciliation efforts, ensuring transparency and compliance.
User Support:
- Provide first-level support related to IT asset requests (hardware, software, etc.).
- Addressand troubleshoot basic issues related to IT assets, escalating complex problems to higher levels of supportas needed.
- Respond to service requestsregarding asset replacements.
- Documentation & Process Improvement:
- Maintain clear and up-to-date documentation on IT asset management processes and policies.
- Identify areas for process improvement in asset management and suggestrecommendations to the IT AssetManager.
Key Ǫualifications:
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or related fieldpreferred, but not required.
Experience:
- Previous experience in IT supportor asset management is an advantage.
- Knowledge of IT asset management softwareand inventory tools.
Technical Skills:
- Basic understanding of IT hardware(laptops, desktops, servers,peripherals).
- Familiarity with asset management tools and ticketing systems.
- Proficient in MS Excel and reportgeneration.
Soft Skills:
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skillsto liaise with other departments.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Problem-solving skillswith the abilityto troubleshoot basicIT issues.
Work Environment:
Location: Onsite / Hybrid (as required)
Hours: Full-time, with occasional overtime during auditsor large assetrefreshes.
