We are seeking a highly analytical and innovative Materials Scientist to research, develop, and test new materials and improve existing ones for application in our products and manufacturing processes. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in material properties, synthesis, characterization, and performance testing across metals, polymers, ceramics, composites, or nanomaterials.
This role involves close collaboration with cross-functional teams including engineering, product development, quality assurance, and manufacturing to develop materials that meet functional, regulatory, and sustainability goals.
- Conduct research to develop new materials or enhance the properties of existing materials for specific applications.
- Perform testing and analysis of physical, chemical, thermal, electrical, and mechanical properties using advanced techniques such as SEM, TEM, XRD, FTIR, DSC, TGA, and rheology.
- Collaborate with product design and engineering teams to select appropriate materials for product performance, durability, and manufacturability.
- Work with manufacturing teams to ensure material compatibility with production processes and improve material processing techniques.
- Investigate material failures, degradation, or performance issues and recommend corrective actions.
- Prepare detailed technical reports, specifications, test data, and research publications.
- Ensure all materials used meet industry standards and environmental regulations such as RoHS, REACH, or FDA
- Work with suppliers and external laboratories for sourcing, testing, and validation of materials.
- Support initiatives to develop sustainable, recyclable, or biodegradable materials aligned with corporate environmental goals.
