You'll be working with the Engineering team.This team runs on coffee with an infectious passion for building products that have never been built before. Our Flexible Energy Stack consists of the e^pack (battery pack) and e^pump (charging station) which together unlock 15-minute rapid charging.Our philosophy: Break. Believe. BuildBreak stuff. Build to simplify.What you will do:At Exponent, we unlocked 15-minute rapid charging of a Battery pack as a result of our e^pump (Charging Station) and e^pack (Battery) working together. Hardware Engineering is an integral part of both these systems. Everything on the Hardware Side from Architecture Design, Component Selection, Schematic, Layout, and DFX impacts the 15-minute rapid charging behavior.We are looking for rockstar Hardware Engineers to work with us on our Flexible Energy Stack.To rapid charge anything (2-wheeler to a multi-axle platform) in flat 15 mins, we need to fulfill multiple requirements: 10X accurate voltage sensing, 10X faster cell balancing, scales across voltage platforms V), CAN sense and handle upwards of 600A and has enough intelligence to manage 100's of cells and Multiple Chargers in parallelThis needs impeccable hardware design skills and a deeply integrated firmware experience.Responsibilities:Define the right architecture (Question any existing architecture)Get. Set. Production.Block-diagram to schematics to layouts to characterizing it to testing it to working with our manufacturing partner to scale it – you will own this.Timeline vs. Quality vs. CostChoose the right components at the right price point to meet the specifications and make smart trade-offsThe ideal candidate requires:Experienced in taking hardware design from concept to productionUnderstanding of DFX (DFA, DFM, DFT etc.)Good understanding of Power Electronic fundamentals (eg: Voltage across a capacitor can't change instantaneously)Deep understanding of Mosfets, Diodes, Capacitors, and InductorsExpertise in AC-DC, DC-DC Converter designExpertise in Schematic Design and Simulation studyThermal analysis, Tolerance analysis, Stress analysis & cost analysisEMI/EMC experience is added advantageUnderstanding of Creepage, Clearance, Insulation What matters:Quality of workApproach towards problem-solvingDissatisfaction with mediocre workResilient attitude to bounce back after failingAbout UsExponent simplifies energy for EVs.Co-founded by Arun Vinayak (Ather Energy's Founding Partner & Former Chief Product Officer) and Sanjay Byalal (Former hardware strategic sourcing and cell strategy lead, Ather and Former Supply Chain Lead, HUL), Exponent focuses on solving two sides of the energy problem by building the e^pump (charging station) and e^pack (battery pack) which together unlock 15-min rapid charging.The 200+ strong team of passionate builders have a ton of EV experience and are currently looking for more builders to join one of the best EV teams in India to build & scale Exponent.
