Job Title: Subject Matter ExpertsScope of WorkCreate assessment items aligned to state standards and state assessment tests across 7 states.Evaluate content alignment and ensure quality and accuracy for English Language Arts (ELA).Assessment ResponsibilitiesDevelop assessment questions in the style according to the state test blueprints for ELA grades 3-8 and English I.Create passages and questions for each of the 7 states and across 7 grade levels.AI-Generated and SME-Authored Assessment Items DevelopmentCollaborate with the Learning Design team to generate and review AI-generated multiple-choice and non-multiple-choice questions for each grade level and state.Evaluate questions for content accuracy and clarity, identifying errors, ambiguities, or language/phrasing that is not grade-appropriate.SME ResponsibilitiesEnsure questions assess intended skills in the most effective and clear way for the specific standard.Verify questions align accurately with DOK levels, have clear answers, and are grade-appropriate in complexity, vocabulary, and cognitive requirement.Adhere to client guidelines for assessment items and passages.Authoring ProcessAuthor items, including sources or creating passages as necessary, for each test question.Ensure items align with specified ELA standards, meet rigor expectations, adhere to pedagogical best practices, and align with client guidelines.
