Role Summary:
To provide strategic leadership, vision, and direction to foster innovation, entrepreneurship, and the development of start-ups. The CEO will oversee all operations, partnerships, fundraising, and program development, ensuring that the incubation centre delivers on its mission to support emerging entrepreneurs and accelerate the growth of early-stage ventures.

Responsibilities:

Ecosystem Building
Conceptualising and executing initiatives to strengthen the VentureStudio startup ecosystem. Building a strong platform through various activities such as events, programs, workshops, and master classes to bring together various stakeholders such as innovators, startups, corporates, investors, academia, foundations, government, etc. Developing partnerships with regional and national startup communities to extend reach and impact.
Conducting programs such as hackathons, accelerators, and innovation challenges to provide deeper value to high-potential startups and innovations.
Organising seminars and conferences on relevant topics and sectors

Raising Funds
Applying for Grants from Corporate CSR, Government and Foundations to raise funds for startups and the centre
Maintaining smooth relations with Granting Agencies through proper financial compliance, timely reporting and delivering required outcomes
Executing timely exits from high-performing incubatees to generate additional revenue for the centre

Infrastructure
Maintaining existing co-working and lab infrastructure
Continued efforts to increase utilisation and service charge revenue
Expand Infrastructure support through strategic partnerships

Innovation & Startup Incubation
Establishing processes to build a pipeline of good innovation and startup applications for incubation
Managing screening and selection of high-potential innovations and startups through internal teams and external experts
Overlooking proper legal and business due diligence of selected startups and innovation
Continuously working to expand VentureStudio mentor and service provider network to support incubatees
Regularly conducting Demo Days to provide additional funding support to incubatees through investor network
Implementing processes in place for regular monitoring and mentoring of incubatees

Technology Transfer
Supporting IP filing of AU faculty and students
Lead activities related to Startup Policy, Technology Transfer Policy etc. for the University

Student Training
Offer multidisciplinary and experiential courses to University students in the areas of Venture Building and Innovation
Engage with various student clubs to jointly launch initiatives to support student entrepreneurs
Work closely with the University’s Alumni Team to support Alumni in areas of startup investing and entrepreneurship
Mentor and incubate student startups and founders
