Lead Release Train Engineer Position SummaryThe Release Train Engineer (RTE) facilitates an Agile Release Train (ART) at the Program level and is responsible for program execution of the value stream, assist the team in the delivery of innovative software products, escalating impediments, managing risk, and helping drive continuous improvement for the ART.RTEs are responsible for facilitating ART events including Planning Increment (PI), PI execution events, tracking of progress, System Demos, and Inspect & Adapt. The RTE ensures mission execution, coaches at the ART and Team levels, and provides guidance in methodologies like Agile, Scrum, DevSecOps, and KanbanBroad expectations from this role are as follows:Hands-on expertise in driving Scaled Agile deliveries at ART level.Provide guidance, coaching and leadership to teams on driving SDLC.Work with product management and architects to confirm prioritized backlog for the product with functional and non-functional requirements (performance, security, high availability, scalability, disaster recovery etc.)Own end-to-end delivery of the product delivery (complete SDLC) from process perspective. Identify process gaps and either define new processes or improve existing processes to close the gap.Work with "we own a product" mindset and work for mindset shift of the team for the same.Experience:12+ years of professional experience in software with at least 6+ years as Scaled Agile Scrum Master and at least 2+ years as RTE.Extensive knowledge of product development and software development methodologiesEssential Duties and ResponsibilitiesPlanning, coordination, and deliveryLeads and serves as the highest authority on the implementation and optimization for the SAFe methodology within the ARTEnsure the quality and timeliness of deliverables in the ART by managing dependencies and risksManages and optimizes the flow of value within the ART using a variety of tools and methods to ensure strategy and execution are in alignmentAssist Scrum Masters in the execution of Planning increments (PI's). w Ensure backlogs are complete, relevant and in alignment with strategic objectives and follows DoR and DoD standardsFacilitation &coachingFacilitate and drive ART ceremonies including PI planning, Scrum of Scrums, System Demo's and Inspect and Adapt sessions.Measure and improve ART performance (maturity) through clearly defined metricsCoach and advise leaders, teams and scrum masters in Lean-Agile practices, mindsets and executionCoach and support the team in applying the agile way of working (Scrum, KanBan, ScrumBan) that fits best with the type of work they have.Communication and collaborationServe as the primary point of contact for all ART stakeholders.Communicates progress, status and challenges to stakeholders including senior management and ensures that business strategy and technology strategy are connected.Foster collaboration between teams, product management, system architects and servicesw Identify and resolve conflicts that impede the ARTs progressLeadershipProvide a servant leadership style aimed at supporting and guiding teams and stakeholders w Performs functional allocation of resources to identified and required tasks and their dependenciesDevelop and maintain a high level of team morale and cohesion w Drive an empower the ART to self-organize and self-manageCommunicates progress, status and challenges to stakeholders including senior management w foster collaboration between teams, product management, system architects and servicesHypothesis based development, shift-left and shift-right initiatives, improving DORA metricsOur Interview Practices To maintain a fair and genuine hiring process, we kindly ask that all candidates participate in interviews without the assistance of AI tools or external prompts.
