Role: Solaris Admin

Location: Bangalore

Experience Range: 4 to 8 years


Job Description:

Desired Competencies:

  • Strong knowledge and must have hands-on experience on Solaris 8,9,10 11, Zones and ZFS Administration, LDOMS, NIS, LDAP.
  • Strong knowledge in Veritas Volume Manager, Veritas Clusters.
  • Must have experience with SAN storage technologies and worked on any storage migrations.
  • Must have experience on P2V migration and OS upgrades and Patching.
  • Knowledge on NIS, and LDAP is an added advantage.
  • Install and configure Solaris operating systems and servers.
  • Support Solaris OS to run various software applications.
  • Maintain and upgrade the Solaris OS and VCS clusters.
  • Develop procedures for Solaris security and management.
  • Develop performance improvement initiatives for Solaris system environment.
  • Identify and resolve system issues in a timely manner.
  • Analyze software and Solaris Sparc hardware environments to determine any system defects.
  • Working experience in any of the configuration management tools like Ansible, puppet & chef will be add on advantage.
  • Perform maintenance routines to ensure continuous system availability.
  • Develop and implement disaster recovery procedures to ensure business continuity.
  • Should be ready to work in 24X7 Shifts
  • Flexibility to work outside of Business Hours to support any critical issues.
  • Knowledge on and ability to follow Incident, Request, Problem and Change Management Process.
  • Ability to work on multiple concurrent tasks with conflicting priorities.
  • Excellent analytical and organizational skills and the ability to work with multiple geographically dispersed teams
