This role involves strategic planning, team management, project execution, collaboration with cross-functional teams in order to deliver the outcomes to achieve the company's key objectives. The Director of Engineering plays a critical role in driving innovation, product development, and maintaining the technical excellence of the company. This role is reporting to the Vice President of Engineering.About You:15+ years of experience in software engineering building software products, with at least 5 years in people managementMust have the right combination of technology experience and people managementMust have ability to collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams such as the Product Management, Program management, UX and Analytics teamsMust have excellent communication skills – both written and verbal, and ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical individuals.Experience in working with peers, stakeholders and partners across different geographies and time zonesAbility to translate highly complex technical requirements into easily digestible and actionable plansExperience preparing & delivering executive level presentations to business and technology audiencesAbility to lead and manage technical individual contributors across all levels with the ability to foster open communications across the organisationAbility to motivate direct and indirect reports to deliver superior results.Ability to provide functional and directional guidance to engineers and recommend policy or strategic direction changes to management.Experience in leading development projects using agile methodologiesExperience with Cloud native and MERN stack would be essentialExperience in the Commerce domain will be a plus.Key Responsibilities:Develop and execute the long-term vision, goals, and strategies aligned with the company's overall mission.Lead technical discussions, be a subject matter expert, and have strategic influence on decision-makingOversee project planning, execution, and delivery, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.Establish project priorities, allocate resources, and track progress to meet milestones and deadlines.Build and nurture high performing teamsEnsure the adoption of best practices, quality standards, and maintain technical excellence in product development.Provide technical guidance and expertise to solve complex problems and address challenges as they arise.Collaborate with product management, design, and other departments to prioritise, align engineering efforts with an eye on business objectives.Facilitate effective communication and coordination across cross-functional teams.Implement and maintain rigorous quality assurance processes to ensure product reliability and performance.Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to guide technology choices and investments.Identify and mitigate technical and project risks that may impact product development or company goals.Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure and report on the performance and progressOur techLanguages and Frameworks: Javascript, Node.JS, React (and React eco-system)APIs: GraphQLData: Postgres, MongoDB, ElasticsearchDeployment: Docker, AWS, KubernetesSource Control: Git, GitHubWhat happens next?If you are interested in this opportunity, please apply below, and we will review your application as soon as possible.
