Kshema has a pan India presence with more than 500+ employees on roles along with 500+ employees as contractors.
Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Agro-Climate Risk Modeler to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing models to assess and mitigate climate-related risks in agriculture. This role involves data analysis, model development, and collaboration with various stakeholders to support sustainable agricultural practices.
Responsibilities:
- Data Collection and Analysis: Gather and analyze climate data, agricultural trends, and environmental factors to assess risks and impacts on agricultural production.
- Model Development: Develop and refine models to predict climate-related risks and their potential effects on agriculture.
- Risk Assessment: Conduct risk assessments to identify vulnerabilities in agricultural systems and propose mitigation strategies.
- Reporting and Documentation: Prepare detailed reports and documentation on findings, methodologies, and recommendations for stakeholders.
- Scenario Analysis: Perform scenario analysis to evaluate the potential impacts of different climate change scenarios on agricultural productivity.
- Collaboration: Work with interdisciplinary teams to integrate climate risk data into broader agricultural planning.
Requirements
- Must have the below
- · Minimum 3-5years of experience in Agro-Climate Risk Modeling analysis.
- · Master’s degree (M.Sc./M. Tech) from an accredited College or University in Agricultural meteorology/Meteorology/Climatology or related field.
- · Experience in handling agroclimatic data using programming languages like Python, R.
- · Should have experience with Geo database to vector and raster data (ArcGIS, QGIS, Python).
- · Good communication skills, self-learning capabilities, must be a team player and self-motivated.
