Job OverviewWe are seeking a skilled Vector Database Specialist to join our team. As a Vector Database Specialist, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining vector databases in production environments.Key Responsibilities:Database Administration: Ensure the optimal performance, availability, and security of vector databases.Data Operations: Support data ingestion, indexing, and querying for Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) applications.Storage and Query Optimization: Utilize Storage Attached Indexing and vector search capabilities to improve storage and query efficiency.Security and Compliance: Implement robust access controls, encryption, and audit logging to ensure database security and compliance with internal and external data governance policies.Automation and Integration: Automate operational tasks using APIs and CI/CD pipelines, and integrate Astra DB with AI platforms and developer tools.Qualifications:Proven experience as a DBA in production environments, preferably with NoSQL or distributed databases.Familiarity with GenAI use cases, semantic search, and vector embeddings.Proficiency in Python or similar scripting languages for automation and data operations.Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and multi-region deployments.Strong understanding of database security, performance tuning, and monitoring.
