Job Description
Samvedna Development Society is seeking a skilled Veterinary Doctor specializing in Poultry and/or Goatry to join our team in Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh. This position is part of our mission to improve livestock health and productivity within rural communities. Key Responsibilities
Veterinary Care & Treatment : Diagnose, treat, and prevent diseases in poultry and goats, ensuring the health and productivity of livestock.
Field Operations : Conduct regular field visits to assess livestock health, oversee disease control measures, and provide necessary treatments.
Training & Capacity Building : Train and guide community members, including SHG farmers and Pashu Sakhis, on best practices in poultry and goatry management.
Cluster Development : Identify potential areas for cluster development, facilitating the growth of poultry and goat clusters and strengthening local livestock management systems.
Preventive Health Measures : Develop and implement preventive health protocols, including vaccinations, to mitigate disease risks in livestock populations.
Data Collection & Monitoring : Maintain accurate records of animal health, treatments provided, and health outcomes, assisting in data-driven decisions to improve livestock care.
Stakeholder Coordination : Collaborate with local communities, FPOs (Farmer Producer Organizations), SHGs (Self-Help Groups), and district-level teams to enhance poultry and goatry interventions.
Key Skills Required
Veterinary Expertise in Poultry & Goatry : Comprehensive knowledge of disease diagnosis, treatment, and preventive measures specific to poultry and goats.
Field Management & Coordination : Proven ability to work with rural communities and manage field operations effectively, including training and supervising field staff.
Community Engagement : Strong skills in community mobilization and working with grassroots-level stakeholders, including SHG members and Pashu Sakhis.
Cluster Development : Experience in developing and managing clusters or groups focused on poultry or goat production.
Data-Driven Approach : Proficiency in monitoring animal health data and maintaining thorough documentation.
Effective Communication : Strong interpersonal and communication skills to engage and educate rural farmers, along with proficiency in local languages (preferred).
