Production Planning Control

We have a requirement for Production Planning and control for Isha Life, Coimbatore. Please find below the Job roles:

1. Production Planning:

• Develop and maintain production schedules to meet sales and operational requirements.

• Forecast raw material, packaging, and labor needs based on sales trends and inventory levels.

• Monitor capacity planning to avoid bottlenecks and optimize throughput.

2. Material Planning and Coordination:

• Calculate and share detailed material requirements (raw materials, packaging materials, etc.) with the purchase/procurement team based on production schedules.

• Collaborate with the procurement team to ensure timely ordering and receipt of materials.

• Proactively follow up with the procurement team and vendors to address delays or shortages.

• Track material lead times and ensure just-in-time (JIT) availability for production.

3. Inventory Planning and Management:

• Maintain optimal inventory levels of raw materials, semi-finished goods, and finished products to support production schedules and customer demand.

• Conduct regular inventory audits to ensure accuracy and prevent shortages or overstocking.

• Analyze inventory turnover rates and implement strategies for inventory optimization.

• Monitor storage conditions in collaboration with the warehouse team to ensure compliance with food safety and quality standards.

4. Production Control:

• Track production progress and ensure adherence to schedules.

• Identify deviations or delays and implement corrective actions.

• Maintain real-time updates of production performance metrics.

• Coordinate with maintenance teams to reduce unplanned downtime.

5. MIS Reporting and Data Analytics:

• Leverage ERP systems to generate accurate and timely MIS reports for production, on-time delivery, and inventory performance.

• Analyze plant performance metrics, including on-time delivery, production efficiency, and inventory turnover, to identify trends and areas for improvement.

• Prepare dashboards and periodic reports for management to enable data-driven decision-making.

• Collaborate with IT and ERP teams to ensure system accuracy and streamline reporting processes.

6. Resource Management:

• Optimize utilization of manpower, equipment, and materials.

• Align inventory and production resources with budgetary constraints and operational goals.

• Work closely with quality control teams to ensure product compliance with standards.

7. Process Improvement:

• Identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements in production, material planning, and inventory management processes.

• Participate in lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.

8. Compliance and Audits:

• Ensure compliance with food safety, health, and safety regulations.

• Maintain accurate records of production, material planning, and inventory activities.

• Conduct internal audits of production, inventory, and reporting processes to ensure data accuracy and adherence to company policies.

Skills/Competencies Required:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Food Technology, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.

• Experience: 3-5 years in production planning, material and inventory management, and ERP-based reporting, preferably in the food manufacturing industry.

• Technical Skills:

◦ Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics) and MIS reporting tools.

◦ Advanced knowledge of Excel and data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).

◦ Strong understanding of lean manufacturing principles, process optimization, and inventory control techniques.

◦ Knowledge of food safety standards like FSSAI, HACCP, and ISO.

• Soft Skills:

◦ Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

◦ Excellent communication and team collaboration abilities.

◦ Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
