Job Title: Data Protection OfficerAs a senior data protection professional, you will lead our organization's compliance with the Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP) Act, 2023 and all applicable privacy regulations. Your role involves overseeing data governance across digital platforms, healthcare systems, e-commerce, CRM, and operational applications.Ensure full compliance with DPDP Act and internal data-privacy policies.Conduct regular privacy risk assessments, data audits, and maintain Records of Processing Activities (RoPA). Identify, mitigate, or manage identified risks to ensure confidentiality, integrity, and availability of personal data.Review data flows across various systems (CRM, SLIMS, D365, Shopify/Magento, mobile apps, websites) and implement necessary data loss prevention measures.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure privacy-by-design principles are applied throughout product development lifecycle.Oversee consent management, data subject rights, and incident response from a privacy standpoint. Educate employees on their roles in maintaining data privacy within the organization.Manage vendor privacy compliance and Data Processing Agreements. Conduct thorough due diligence on vendors handling sensitive data and ensure their processes align with organizational standards.Lead employee training and awareness initiatives. Develop engaging content that educates stakeholders about their responsibilities in protecting personal data.Requirements:7–15 years of experience in data privacy, compliance, IT governance, or related domains. Strong understanding of DPDP Act, GDPR principles, and data-governance frameworks is essential.Experience with digital/healthcare/CRM/e-commerce platforms is preferred. Knowledge of industry-specific regulations is beneficial.Certifications such as CIPP/E, DPO Certification, ISO 27001 Lead Implementer are highly valued.Excellent communication, documentation, and cross-functional coordination skills. Ability to present complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
