We're looking for a skilled professional to join our team in developing predictive models that detect early warning signals in high-frequency vehicle sensor data.Key ResponsibilitiesPredictive Modeling: Develop machine learning models that improve uptime outcomes by identifying potential issues before they become major problems.Data Pipeline Engineering: Design and maintain data pipelines to ingest large amounts of IoT data from vehicle systems, working closely with engineering teams to deploy and monitor models.Generative AI Innovation: Build components that power conversational intelligence for fleet managers and vehicle technicians, leveraging large language models to improve decision-making.Domain Expertise Embedding: Translate knowledge of vehicle mechanics into high-value features, partnering with product teams to ground models in real-world behavior.Technical Standards: Implement best practices for reproducibility, testing, model monitoring, and continuous improvement to ensure the highest quality solutions.ChallengesSensor Fusion Complexity: Integrating multiple data streams, including CAN-bus, IoT feeds, historical maintenance logs, and real-world context, to create a comprehensive understanding of vehicle performance.Scale & Latency: Delivering real-time predictions across hundreds of vehicles with minimal false positives, balancing accuracy and speed.Regulatory & Safety Constraints: Ensuring models comply with industry standards and support safety-critical decision-making, prioritizing risk mitigation and compliance.RequirementsExperience: 3+ years in data science with at least 2 years in vehicle telematics, Industrial IoT, or automotive diagnostics.Technical Skills: Expert in Python, ML, SQL/NoSQL, and data streaming platforms, deployment workflows - containerization, CI/CD, model tracking, and observability.Vehicle Expertise: Familiarity with CAN-bus protocols (J1939, OBD-II), telematics standards, and core vehicle systems like engine, transmission, and exhaust.Startup DNA: Ability to thrive in ambiguity, experiment boldly, and learn quickly from failed runs, embracing a culture of innovation and adaptation.
